Raptor combines a seven-line blue-laser mode for detail with NIR structured light for faces and larger objects. It is a computer-connected scanner, so the working experience depends heavily on cable management and workstation performance.

Where capture gets difficult

The laser mode is its main advantage for dark, metallic and sharp-edged parts. It usually uses reflective markers. NIR offers markerless geometry or texture tracking, but is not the mode to choose for the smallest mechanical features.

Capture is only half the workflow

CrealityScan supports Windows and macOS capture, point-cloud fusion, meshing and common mesh exports. Keep GPU requirements in mind for large, dense projects.

Mesh export is not the same as editable CAD. Reverse-engineering projects may still require surface reconstruction, dimensional constraints and verification in separate software.

Raptor remains a strong middle ground for reverse engineering when professional multi-line systems are out of budget. It gives up Pika's compact wireless workflow and MIRACO's independence from a computer.
