How to calibrate the Creality Raptor

Follow the official calibration sequence, then verify the scanner before a tolerance-sensitive job

Step by step

Complete the workflow in order

  1. 01

    Confirm the connection before calibration

    Connect Raptor directly to a supported USB port, open CrealityScan and confirm that the software identifies the correct scanner. Resolve power, cable or driver warnings before beginning because an interrupted sequence is not a valid calibration.

  2. 02

    Open the matching calibration workflow

    Choose the calibration routine for CR-Scan Raptor rather than another Creality model. Keep the supplied board available and follow the orientation diagram shown by the current software version.

    Match the first requested position

    Place the scanner at the indicated angle and distance. Center the board in the guide and hold still until the software confirms that view instead of sweeping continuously across it.

  4. 04

    Complete every angle in order

    Move only after the current view registers. Keep the board fixed, avoid covering its pattern and return to the requested distance if the on-screen outline or indicator shows that the scanner is too near or too far.

  5. 05

    Save the result and read the status

    Finish the complete sequence and wait for CrealityScan to report the result. A completed progress bar is not enough if the software also displays a warning or asks for the sequence to be repeated.

    Run a controlled reference scan

    Scan a rigid, matte object with one known dimension using a stable path. Inspect scale, doubled edges, surface noise and tracking before using Raptor for a tolerance-sensitive or difficult-surface project.

Troubleshooting

Fix the failure before repeating the scan

The board will not register

Recheck the requested orientation and distance, remove glare from the board, clean the optical windows and keep both board and scanner still while the frame is accepted.

Calibration repeatedly fails

Restart with the correct Raptor board and current official software, use a direct data connection and close applications that may interrupt USB or GPU resources. Do not reuse a result that the software marks as failed.

The reference scan has doubled edges

Separate calibration from tracking. Confirm the calibration status first, then improve overlap, markers, object stability and the capture path before assuming the board sequence solved every alignment problem.

A known dimension is still wrong

Check export units, measurement method and the scan mode used. Repeat the reference scan and compare results; fit-critical work needs independent dimensional verification rather than a visual mesh check.
