What this scanner is really for
A genuinely all-in-one professional scanner for teams that need laser detail, large-object NIR capture and on-device processing in one field-ready unit.
The key is to read Up to 0.02 mm (laser) as a manufacturer’s best-case specification, not a guaranteed result on every surface. Calibration, object finish, tracking stability, markers and operator technique all affect usable geometry.

Capture is only half the workflow
On-device tools include calibration, scanning, fusion, multi-scan alignment, meshing and color mapping. CrealityScan 4 on Windows or macOS extends the workflow, but recommended computer specifications are demanding.
Mesh export is not the same as editable CAD. Reverse-engineering projects may still require surface reconstruction, dimensional constraints and verification in separate software.

P1 is the premium field option for teams that need professional laser capture without keeping a laptop attached. Its weight and price make little sense for casual users.

Can Sermoon P1 process scans without a PC?
Yes. Creality documents on-device point-cloud fusion, alignment, meshing and color mapping.
How portable is Sermoon P1?
It removes the required laptop connection, but at 830 g it is heavier than most tethered handheld scanners.
