Step by step

Complete the workflow in order

  1. 01

Inspect the surface before choosing a mode

Identify glossy, dark and featureless regions first because they affect exposure, tracking and whether temporary preparation is needed

  2. 02

Begin in HD mode for the small object

Use HD mode when detail matters and the object fits its working range; switch to Fast mode only when coverage and tracking matter more than fine sampling

  3. 03

    Select an alignment method deliberately

Use geometry alignment for distinctive shapes, texture when visible color features are reliable, or markers when the shape does not provide enough tracking information

  4. 04

    Capture planned overlapping passes

Keep previously scanned geometry in view while circling the object, then reposition it only after saving a complete first pass

  5. 05

    Align without forcing a match

Reject an alignment that produces doubled edges or shifted holes, and add another clean pass instead of hiding the error during meshing

  6. 06

Review the mesh against the object

Inspect thin edges, openings and reflective regions, then check a known dimension before exporting for print or CAD work

Do not stop at a green button

Check the result before relying on it

The selected mode matches the object size and required detail

Alignment does not create duplicate edges

Real openings remain open after meshing

The exported model has a checked scale and documented settings
